Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Melt the Butter and Oil

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and olive oil. Place the saucepan over medium heat and let the butter melt slowly, stirring occasionally to help everything come together. The butter will add a rich base, while the olive oil ensures a smooth texture.

Sauté the Garlic

  • Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring often, until the garlic becomes fragrant and slightly golden. Be careful not to burn it, as garlic can turn bitter quickly.

Season the Sauce

  • Add in your Cajun seasoning, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine, allowing the spices to bloom in the warm butter and garlic mixture. This is when the sauce starts to smell absolutely irresistible!

Add Lemon and Hot Sauce

  • Pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice for that bright, tangy kick. If you love heat, now’s the time to add your hot sauce (or adjust to your heat preference). Stir everything together and let the sauce simmer for another 1-2 minutes to meld the flavors.

Balance the Flavors

  • Taste your sauce and feel free to adjust it! If you want a bit of sweetness to balance the spice, add a teaspoon of honey. If you prefer more zing, squeeze in some extra lemon juice. The beauty of this recipe is that you can customize it to your liking.

Simmer to Thicken

  • Let the sauce simmer on low heat for an additional 3-4 minutes. This helps the sauce thicken slightly, making it perfect for dipping or drizzling over your seafood.

Finish and Serve

  • Remove the sauce from heat and give it a final stir. If you’re using fresh parsley, sprinkle it on top for a burst of color and freshness. Now, your Seafood Boil Sauce is ready to be poured over your favorite seafood, or used as a dipping sauce to enhance every bite.
