Ingredients

1 can (29 oz) of sliced peaches (in syrup or juice)

1 box of yellow cake mix

1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter

1/2 cup of granulated sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional)

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Make sure your oven is fully preheated before you start assembling the cobbler. This ensures an even bake and that golden, crispy topping we all love.

Prepare the peach filling.

  • Open the can of sliced peaches and pour them, syrup and all, into a 9x13-inch baking dish. If you’re using fresh or frozen peaches, you can add a tablespoon or two of sugar to sweeten them up before placing them in the dish.

Add cinnamon and sugar (optional).

  • If you’re using cinnamon, sprinkle it evenly over the peaches. You can also add a little more sugar here if you like your cobbler extra sweet. Gently stir to coat the peaches, ensuring an even flavor throughout.

Add the cake mix.

  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches. Don’t mix it in—just let the cake mix sit on top of the peach filling. This will form the delicious, crumbly topping.

Pour melted butter over the cake mix.

  • Evenly pour the melted butter over the cake mix. This will help the cobbler crust form as it bakes, giving you that rich, golden finish. Try to cover as much of the cake mix as possible with butter.

Bake for 35-40 minutes.

  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges. Keep an eye on it as baking times can vary slightly depending on your oven.

Cool slightly before serving.

  • Once done, let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set a bit and makes it easier to serve.
